24th annual UNICEF Water for Life Gala Calgary

News Hour:

The Annual UNICEF Water for Life Gala is one of Calgary’s premier charity events with a delicious four course dinner, sensational auction items and spectacular entertainment. The evening will include inspiring keynote speaker UNICEF Canada Ambassador John Nsabimana.

John was born in Rwanda and fled to Uganda at the age of 7 during the genocide where he and his two younger brothers lived in a refugee camp for 11 years before he came to Canada. John has recently completed his Masters of Public Administration from the University of Victoria and will be returning to Rwanda this year for the first time since he left.

Water is an essential right and a vital need and although significant improvements have been made, globally more than 1.8 billion people still lack access to a safe drinking water source. With the generous support of many donors, UNICEF leads innovative initiatives to bring life-saving water to all children.
