Today, Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Minister Abdul Awal Mintoo received a courtesy call from Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma at his secretariat office.
According to an official handout, the meeting focused particularly on strengthening the two nations’ collaboration in environmental preservation and mitigating the effects of climate change.
The circular economy, waste management, renewable energy, capacity building, research and knowledge sharing, and increasing energy efficiency were the main topics of debate.
The summit also emphasized the necessity of collaborative efforts to lower carbon emissions and create sound environmental governance.
They also discussed the ways to enhance mutual cooperation in green cooling, biodiversity conservation, and environmentally friendly industrialization, the release said adding the meeting also emphasized on sharing experience in the Sundarbans protection.
The minister stated Bangladesh is working to strengthen bilateral cooperation with neighboring India. Bangladesh is keen to work more closely in the future to address environmental and climate change issues.
The Indian high commissioner assured continued cooperation in building sustainable development and climate-resilient infrastructure in Bangladesh.
He expressed interest in exchanging India’s experience in various fields, including renewable energy and hydrogen-fueled automobiles.
Secretary of the ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Deputy High Commissioner of India and Chief Conservator of Forests, were present.
