Malaysian PM greets Tarique Rahman over the phone

Anwar Ibrahim, the prime minister of Malaysia, called Tarique Rahman, the prime minister of Bangladesh, on Friday to congratulate him on becoming the nation’s eleventh prime minister.

Saleh Shibli, the prime minister’s press secretary, told BSS this afternoon that Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim had called Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at approximately 3:00 PM today to congratulate him and his party, the BNP, on their overwhelming win in the 13th legislative elections.

He claimed that both leaders greeted each other and emphasized the importance of fortifying bilateral ties between the two friendly countries.

The press secretary noted that they also talked about Bangladesh’s labor exports.
