The UK congratulated Tarique Rahman, the chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), on his party’s election victory today and said it is willing to collaborate with the incoming administration on issues like security, migration, economic growth, and climate change.
“Congratulations to Tarique Rahman and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party on your election victory, and to the people of Bangladesh as the country enters a new chapter,” read a message issued by the British High Commission, Dhaka.
According to the statement, the UK is eager to collaborate with the incoming administration on issues including economic expansion, migration, climate change mitigation, and security cooperation.
The declaration demonstrated the UK’s ongoing involvement with Bangladesh as a strategic and close development partner.
