In order to preserve public safety and order, the government has banned drone operations statewide until February 15 and issued a warning that infractions will be considered crimes under the 2017 Civil Aviation Act.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) stated in a statement released here today that law enforcement organizations and military personnel carrying out official tasks would not be subject to the limitation. The prohibition does, however, grant conditional authorization for drone operations for government or private organizations engaged in research, surveys, agriculture, and surveillance, as well as for the purpose of broadcasting events hosted by government organizations.
According to the announcement, such operations will need prior CAAB application and approval from all pertinent entities.
Additionally, it issued a warning that anyone caught using a drone in contravention of the prohibition faces penalties under Section 24 of the Civil Aviation Act of 2017.
