All land ports to remain closed on Feb 12–13

In anticipation of the 13th national parliament election and referendum on February 12, the administration has chosen to temporarily close immigration checkpoints at all land ports in Bangladesh.

A statement from the Home Ministry states that in order to guarantee the peaceful, orderly, and seamless conduct of the national election and referendum, all land ports will be closed from 6:00 am on February 12 to 6:00 am on February 13.

The instruction directed the relevant authorities to take the required actions to carry out the closure within the allotted time frame.
Immigration and border management agencies have been asked to remain alert and ensure compliance with the order.

Authorities have advised travelers and stakeholders to plan accordingly and avoid cross-border travel through land ports during the closure period.
