Election Commission asks registered voters to complete postal voting by Feb 10

Voters in Bangladesh who registered to vote in the national elections and referendum using the “Postal Vote BD” mobile app have been asked by the Election Commission (EC) to finish their balloting as soon as they receive it and turn in the yellow envelope to the closest post office by February 10.

In a message issued today, the Commission said, “It is being informed to the respected voters living in Bangladesh, who have registered through the ‘Postal Vote BD’ mobile app that if they complete their voting immediately after receiving the ballots and submit the yellow envelope to the nearest post office by February 10, 2026, it will be possible to reach the Returning Officer on time.”

All electors who registered to vote by mail and have not yet scanned the QR code on their envelope are required to do so by February 10 at 11:59 PM (Bangladesh time), according to a previous communication from the EC.

It stated that if the ballots are not scanned, they will be deemed invalid.
