The country’s first Maxxis Bangladesh Downhill Challenge Cycling Competition held in Chattogram city

Amid great enthusiasm and excitement, the country’s first Maxxis Bangladesh Downhill Challenge Cycling Competition was successfully held in the port city of Chattogram. Organised by the Bangladesh Cycling Federation, the competition took place on Saturday morning for the first time in Bangladesh at the scenic high hills of the Asian University for Women’s permanent campus in Chattogram, with 40 cyclists from across the country participating.

After the competition, the closing and prize-giving ceremony was held, with the Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation, Dr Shahadat Hossain, as the chief guest.

At the first-ever Maxxis Bangladesh Downhill Challenge Cycling Competition, spectators enjoyed the thrilling, adventurous event as cyclists raced downhill at high speeds, navigating narrow, high-risk roads and stairways from the tops of steep hills.

The competition was held under the overall supervision of Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal Tulu, General Secretary of the Bangladesh Cycling Federation. Special guests at the closing ceremony included renowned sports organiser Hafizur Rahman from Chattogram. Also present were Everest conqueror Babar Ali and Ali Ahsan Raju, Councillor of the Chattogram District Sports Association. Representatives of the sponsoring organisations and officials of the Bangladesh Cycling Federation were also in attendance.

Finally, the chief guest, Chattogram City Mayor Dr Shahadat Hossain, distributed prizes among the winners.
