Religious Affairs Adviser Dr A F M Khalid Hossain today called upon the Hamdard University graduates to work for changing the country with the knowledge acquired from the university.
“Serve the society with knowledge, ethics, and values,” he said.
He said this while presiding over Hamdard University’s inaugural convocation ceremony, which was place today at the institution’s permanent site in Hamdard Nagar, Gazaria, Munshiganj.
Up to 1,754 alumni obtained both undergraduate and graduate degrees.
Speaking to the graduates, the advisor noted that Bangladesh’s 54-year history has seen both successes and setbacks and urged them to work with honesty and integrity to transform the country.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan delivered the convocation speech.
Khan urged graduates to remain grateful to their parents and guardians and to face future challenges with skills, tolerance, and commitment to public welfare.
Among the award recipients, Md. Ashraful Hossain of the Faculty of Business received the Chancellor’s Gold Medal, while Professor Dr. Kamrunnahar Harun Palin received the Founder’s Gold Medal.
Eight other graduates were honored with Vice-Chancellor’s Gold Medals.
Earlier in the day, the adviser inaugurated the Zakat Fair-2026 organized by the Center for Zakat Management at the Officers’ Club in Bailey Road, Dhaka.
