Chinese firm Leaders Label to invest $20m in BSEZ

Today, Leaders Label Material (Bangladesh) Co. Ltd. inked a land lease agreement with the Bangladesh Special Economic Zone (BSEZ), a major step to support the nation’s textile and apparel accessories industry.

According to a press statement, the agreement, which was finalized in the BEZA conference room, is the tenth school to obtain a spot within the zone.

Leaders Label Material (Bangladesh) is a division of Zhejiang Province-based Huzhou Lingxian Silk Ribbon Co. Ltd., a Chinese company.

The company is globally recognized for its expertise in Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) solutions, tags, and labels, serving international apparel and retail giants.

The company highlighted the BSEZ’s advantageous location, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and welcoming atmosphere as reasons for selecting it for its first production site in Bangladesh.

To construct its facilities, the company has been given one hectare (10,000 square meters) of land. The second quarter of 2026 is when construction is expected to start.

Officials see the project’s expected $15 million to $20 million first investment as a clear indication of long-term investor confidence in the BSEZ.

The establishment of this factory is expected to yield several key benefits for the national economy, including technology transfer, job creation and global integration.

The BSEZ, frequently referred to as the Japanese Economic Zone, is a landmark government-to-government (G2G) initiative between the governments of Bangladesh and Japan.

Managed under the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), the zone aims to diversify industrial production, attract both local and Japanese investment, and alleviate poverty through sustainable economic growth.
