Tarique Rahman, the acting chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has obtained his National Identity Card (NID) and fulfilled all voter registration requirements.
to approximately 1:00 pm today, he came to the Election Commission’s Election Training Institute (ETI) in Agargaon to finish the voter registration procedure. After completing all formalities, he departed the ETI premises at approximately 1:18 pm.
There is no legal barrier preventing Tarique Rahman from registering to vote, Election Commissioner Abdur Rahmanel Masud informed BSS.
According to him, “Under Section 15 of the Voter List Act, the Election Commission can register any person as a voter at any time. In this case, there is no legal barrier.”
