Aricha-Kazirhat ferry services resume after 11 hours

Due to heavy fog, ferry services on the Aricha-Kazirhat river route were interrupted for 11 hours before resuming this morning.

Ferry operations on the route were halted starting at 11:00 p.m. on Thursday due to a rapid decline in visibility, according to Md. Abdullah, Assistant General Manager (AGM) of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Aricha Ghat.

“After improvement in visibility, ferry services resumed at 10:00 am today,” he stated.

All five boats are now running regularly with full loads, he continued. With the exception of a few stuck vehicles, there wasn’t much traffic near Aricha Ghat.
