Adilur Rahman Khan, adviser for LGRD, Cooperatives, Housing, and Public Works, stated today that Bangladeshis want border killings to stop.
In honor of Felani, the teenage girl murdered by BSF shooting at the border, he spoke at the unveiling ceremony for the nameplate of “Felani Avenue,” which names the road between Gulshan-2 roundabout to Pragati Sarani.
According to a press release, the event at the Gulshan-2 roundabout was organized by Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).
“Our sister Felani lost her life while hanging from barbed wire. This road has been named after her to remind us every day of the brutality inflicted upon her,” he said.
According to the advisor, border killings are still occurring along Bangladesh’s border, which the nation is bringing to the attention of the international community.
He stated that the road was opened in Felani’s honor on this historic Victory Day as part of the current government’s efforts to prevent border killings.
Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) Chairman Engr. Md. Reazul Islam, Public Works Secretary Md. Nazrul Islam?, Local Government Division Secretary Md. Rezaul Maksud Jahedi, DNCC Administrator Mohammad Azaz, and other DNCC officials were in attendance.
