The idea of creating a thorough Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in youth empowerment, the arts, and information sharing was explored today between Bangladesh and the Maldives.
According to a news statement received today, the conversation took place when Dr. Md. Nazmul Islam, Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to the Maldives, visited Maldivian Youth, Information, and Arts Minister Ibrahim Waheed in Male.
The High Commissioner emphasized during the discussion that youth-focused cooperation is a very promising area for future cooperation between the two friendly countries.
He stated that Bangladesh is very interested in working with other countries to organize youth-focused art and culture exhibitions, film festivals, and creative showcases, as well as exchange programs on digital empowerment, media, and communication.
In order to institutionalize collaboration and guarantee long-term effects, he also suggested signing memoranda of understanding centered on youth development, information exchange, and capacity building.
Dr. Nazmul highlighted Bangladesh’s recent experience and highlighted the youth’s remarkable role in advancing civic responsibility, democratic principles, and peaceful social change, especially during the nation’s historic democratic revolution.
Such youth-led projects, he claimed, may act as a template for building a more democratic, stable, and peaceful international community.
In response, Minister Waheed emphasized his willingness to proceed with a full Memorandum of Understanding after more consultations and technical-level discussions, and he showed a significant interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation in the areas mentioned.
Both parties committed to staying in constant contact and looking for workable ways to turn the suggested collaboration into tangible initiatives that would help both nations’ young.
