Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder, a primary and mass education adviser, stated today that the government wishes to make Bangla the language of higher education.
He made this statement while presiding over Prime University’s third convocation at the capital’s Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center.
The advisor stated that developing the necessary skills and competency is essential to the nation’s progress and that earning a degree is insufficient on its own.
“We must remember that although we pursue higher education, we do not have employment opportunities. We pursue higher education, yet we are not becoming skilled or entrepreneurial. As a result, the economic impact and the progress that the country was supposed to achieve are not happening,” he said.
“No matter how much technical progress we make, if human development does not happen in that direction, we will never be able to lead our country toward progress,” he added, highlighting the fact that technological advancement is incomplete without human capability.
“A country may have many types of resources for development but we have only one significant resource—our people,” stated the primary and mass education advisor, emphasizing human resources as the key driver behind national development.
“I hope you will dedicate yourself to serving society and the nation with your acquired knowledge, wisdom, and ethical values,” the advisor added, congratulating the graduates.
In addition to Prime University Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Quazi Deen Mohd Khosru and Chairman of the Board of Trustees Anwar Kamal Pasha, Professor Dr. M. Shamsul Alam gave the special convocation speech. The convocation was attended by 1,870 graduates in total.
