Jean-Marc Sere-Charlet, the new French ambassador to Bangladesh, called Foreign Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain at the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
According to a ministry news release issued here this evening, both parties discussed a wide variety of bilateral problems during the meeting on Monday, including Bangladesh’s impending national election, trade and investment, defense cooperation, diaspora, and migration challenges.
They also talked on France’s assistance in addressing Bangladesh’s difficulties following its LDC graduation.
The Foreign Adviser acknowledged France’s longstanding development partnership and conveyed appreciation for French support to the Interim Government in Bangladesh’s democratic transition.
Adviser Hossain also encouraged the French Ambassador to broaden and deepen French ventures in trade and investment, development cooperation, skills development, climate change and energy cooperation.
The ambassador reiterated France’s dedication to expanding commerce, investment, and people-to-people interactions as well as strengthening bilateral collaboration.
He reaffirmed France’s belief that Bangladesh is a democratic and peaceful nation and conveyed his desire to investigate further connections in the field of development.
