Mobile court fines vehicles for noise pollution in Dhaka

Today, a Department of Environment (DoE) mobile court held a special drive in the Kakrail neighborhood of the capital to reduce noise pollution. The court also fined vehicles for utilizing hydraulic horns and making excessive noise.

Six cars were fined a total of Taka 23,000 for breaking Rule 8(1) of the Noise Pollution (Control) Rules, 2006, during the drive.

According to a handout, the court also counseled owners and drivers of roughly 22 other vehicles regarding the detrimental impacts of noise pollution and the significance of upholding sound rules in order to raise public awareness.

Such drives will continue throughout the city to guarantee a tranquil and healthy environment for its citizens, according to Department of Environment officials. They called on all drivers and car owners to abstain from using hydraulic horns and to work together to lessen noise pollution.
