The potential timetable for the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026 was discussed today during a meeting between a delegation from the Bangladesh Publishers and Booksellers Association and Professor Muhammad Azam, Director General of the Bangla Academy.
In a meeting held tonight at 6:30 p.m., the association made a number of recommendations about the date of the fair the next year.
The conversation included a variety of potential timeslots as well as suggestions from state security organizations.
Given the circumstances, it was decided that the plan to have the fair in February 2026—after the impending national elections—was feasible and viable.
It was agreed that the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026 final schedule would be revealed following the official announcement of the date of the national election.
The Bangla Academy is still in constant contact with higher-ranking government officials and other relevant organizations to ensure the next book expo runs well.
