Bangladesh reaffirms solidarity with Qatar; against any threat to security

Md. Touhid Hossain, the foreign affairs adviser, reiterated Bangladesh’s unwavering support for Qatar in the face of any danger to its security and independence.

According to a news release from the foreign ministry here, he gave the promise during a bilateral discussion with Sultan bin Saad bin Sultan Al Muraikhi, the state minister for foreign affairs of Qatar, on the margins of the 21st IISS Manama Dialogue, which is currently taking place in Bahrain on Saturday.

A wide range of bilateral topics were discussed between the two parties, highlighting the significance of strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation.

Adviser Hossain appreciated Qatar’s continued support for Bangladesh’s development priorities and its commitment to efforts aimed at resolving the Rohingya crisis.

The Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) and the Foreign Adviser met separately to discuss how the organization may better support regional peace, political discourse, and collaboration throughout Asia.

In order to discuss important regional and global security challenges, Hossain is participating in the 21st Manama Dialogue, which has brought together world leaders, foreign ministers, and policymakers.
