Greece announces 2.5-bn-euro plan to tackle drought threat

In order to address the growing drought crisis endangering its two biggest cities and numerous islands, Greece said on Thursday that it would invest 2.5 billion euros ($2.9 billion) over the next ten years.

According to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, “it may rain or snow, but hope is not a strategy…we must be prepared for the worst possible scenario.”
