After AFP reported that the use of the satellite internet terminals had skyrocketed in the illegal sector, SpaceX’s vice-president announced on Wednesday that the company had terminated service to over 2,500 Starlink devices at scam centers in Myanmar.
According to Lauren Dreyer, vice-president of Starlink business operations at SpaceX, “SpaceX proactively identified and disabled over 2,500 Starlink Kits in the vicinity of suspected’scam centers'” across the US.
As a crackdown on the hub proceeded, an AFP journalist observed hundreds of people escaping KK Park, one of Myanmar’s largest fraud factories, which is located close to the Thai border, on Wednesday.
