UK’s Starmer to attend ‘Middle East peace summit’ in Egypt

Following a truce between Israel and Hamas, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will attend a Middle East peace summit on Monday to sign the Gaza deal, according to his office.

Downing Street announced on Saturday that the prime minister would visit the Egyptian seaside town of Sharm El-Sheikh to attend the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit on Monday. It is anticipated that US President Donald Trump would also be present.

“He will attend the signing ceremony of the peace plan for Gaza — marking a historic turning point for the region after two years of conflict and bloodshed,” stated the statement.
