Youth Inclusion International Forum (YIIF) 2025 Highlights Work Decency for youth empowerment

The Youth Inclusion International Forum – Dhaka, organized by Life Project 4 Youth (LP4Y), successfully concluded today, Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Hotel Lakeshore Heights, Dhaka. The event brought together around 80 participants, including youths, Activists, journalists, and representatives from partner organizations, to create a unique space for dialogue centered on a crucial topic: work decency for youth in Bangladesh.

The forum served as a platform for advocating and building solutions together, aiming to empower, inspire, and connect stakeholders.

The day’s agenda kicked off with an Introduction and Opening Speech by Leuza Khan, President of the LP4Y Bangladesh Foundation, setting an optimistic tone for the proceedings. This was followed by powerful Youth Testimonies from two young participants, sharing their personal experiences and insights.

Focus on Work Decency

The central element of the forum was a dynamic Round Table discussion on the subject, “How to increase work decency in Bangladesh?”

The panel, moderated by Roksana Akter, a youth representative from LP4Y, featured a diverse group of experts and advocates:

  • Shakila Islam – Youth Advocate & Climate Activist
  • Falguny Akter – Youth Representative
  • Faisal Shuvo – Senior Merchandiser, Carrefour
  • Arian Arif – Founder and Executive Director, Mojar School
  • Sagar Khalasi – Partnership Lead, Shomvhob

Discussions explored practical strategies and collaborative efforts needed to ensure safe, fair, and respectable working conditions for the nation’s young workforce.

Following the thought-provoking debate, participants engaged in a highly practical Workshop titled, “The skills you cannot see on paper,” emphasizing essential soft and human skills critical for success in the modern workplace.

The forum concluded with a Closing Speech delivered by Mexandre Magnenat, Country Coordinator for LP4Y Bangladesh, who reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to youth empowerment and sustainable inclusion. The event wrapped up with a session for Snacks & Networking, allowing participants to forge connections and continue the discussions initiated throughout the day.

An engaging flow was maintained throughout the day, thanks to the skilled moderation of Sadia Afrin, Project Manager – Finance and Operations for lp4y Bangladesh who served as the Master of Ceremony. Her efforts ensured that the discussions remained focused and the transitions between segments were seamless, contributing significantly to the forum’s overall success.

The Youth Inclusion International Forum – Dhaka successfully highlighted the urgency of addressing work decency and underscored the need for continuous dialogue and action among youth, private sector, and civil society.
