All relevant officials have been instructed by the Election Commission (EC) to resolve any type of National Identity Card (NID) correction application within 45 days.
Md. Saiful Islam, Director (Operations) of the EC’s National Identity Registration Wing, verified the information to BSS this evening, stating that field-level officers have already received the instruction.
“An application for an NID adjustment shouldn’t be pending for more than 45 days. He added that older applications are also being given priority for a speedy settlement, but in the majority of situations, we are resolving them earlier.
He noted that the decision was made during the EC’s monthly coordination meeting earlier this month.
