The interim government has formed the Bangladesh Dairy Development Board, which will take effect from today.
The government also declared the ‘Bangladesh Dairy Development Board Act, 2023’ effective from the same day.
The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock issued two gazette notifications on August 28, which were subsequently published in official gazettes.
The government issued the ‘Bangladesh Dairy Development Board Act, 2023’ on November 13, 2023 to increase the production of milk and dairy products as a balanced food, determine the quality and control, market it and manage these related matters properly.
The country’s milk production, processing, quality assurance, and market management will all be further optimized with the help of the new Dairy Development Board.
The government wants to boost local milk production, give farmers fair prices, and provide consumers with healthy milk.
