Banks to remain closed on August 5

All scheduled banks in Bangladesh will remain closed on August 5 in observance of “July Uprising Day,” a newly declared public holiday.

To this end, the central bank issued a circular recently.

In the circular, the central bank instructed all scheduled banks to suspend operations on that day in compliance with a government notification from the Cabinet Division, which designated August 5 as a national holiday.
