A specialized medical team from Singapore is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka tonight, Tuesday, July 22, 2025, to provide advanced treatment for the numerous individuals injured in Monday’s devastating fighter jet crash at Uttara Milestone School and College.
The medical team is expected to land at approximately 10:40 PM local time. This initiative is part of the interim government’s swift response to ensure the highest quality of care for the victims, as confirmed by Dr. Abu Zafar Ahmed, Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
“The interim government has issued clear directives to take all necessary steps to ensure proper treatment for the injured,” Dr. Ahmed told BSS. “In line with those directives, we have contacted Singaporean physicians, and their first team will reach Dhaka tonight.”
Upon their arrival, the visiting doctors will assess the condition of the injured patients currently receiving treatment at various hospitals across the capital. Based on their expert recommendations, the government will then facilitate overseas treatment for those identified as requiring further specialized and advanced medical care.
Following the tragic incident on Monday afternoon, the Health Ministry quickly formed a dedicated medical team, working in coordination with doctors at all levels of the DGHS to closely monitor the situation. Members of this team have been actively collecting information from different hospitals and remain on high alert to arrange advanced care as needed.
“The government has given strict instructions to ensure the highest standard of treatment at any cost,” the DGHS chief reiterated, adding that all necessary preparations have been completed in accordance with these directives. He also issued a stern warning that “any negligence or laxity by doctors, nurses, or anyone involved in the treatment process will not be tolerated.”
The Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BGI training aircraft crashed into the Milestone School and College campus in Uttara shortly after takeoff on Monday, resulting in at least 31 fatalities, including the pilot and numerous schoolchildren, and over 160 injuries. The incident has led to a national day of mourning in Bangladesh today.
