DHAKA, Bangladesh – July 12, 2025 – A captivating photography exhibition titled ‘From Sea to Summit’ by renowned mountaineers Ikramul Hasan Shakil and Tashi Gyalzen Sherpa was inaugurated yesterday, Friday, July 11, 2025, at 3:30 PM, at the Nalinikanta Bhattashali Gallery of the National Museum. The exhibition showcases their recent historic successful expedition to the summit of Mount Everest.
The ‘From Sea to Summit’ exhibition features 115 extraordinary photographs capturing the diverse flatland and hilly life of Bangladesh, India, and Nepal, alongside breathtaking landscapes of the Himalayas and vivid moments from their arduous expedition.
The exhibition was officially opened by Ms. Lalita Shilwal, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Nepali Embassy in Bangladesh, who graced the event as the Chief Guest. Mr. Inam Al Haq, a distinguished Antarctica and Arctic explorer, attended as a Special Guest. Other esteemed guests included Mr. Mukti Majumder Babu, Chairman of Prokriti O Jibon Foundation, and a representative from UNDP. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Everest Summiteer M. A. Muhit.
A Journey of Perseverance and Record-Breaking Achievement:

Prior to this historic climb, Ikramul Hasan Shakil had also completed the challenging 1,700-kilometer ‘Great Himalayan Trail’ trekking, and successfully scaled one 7,000-meter peak and two 6,000-meter peaks in the Himalayas. He has also held two previous joint photography exhibitions.
His climbing partner, Tashi Gyalzen Sherpa, set a new world record by ascending Mount Everest four times in a single season within a mere 15 days, highlighting his exceptional endurance and skill.
The ‘From Sea to Summit’ exhibition is presented as an aesthetic chronicle of their adventurous expedition to the Everest summit. The exhibition is open to the public till from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM, and will continue till July 14, from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
