River levels across Bangladesh are showing mixed trends, with no stations currently flowing above danger levels. The Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) reported today that water levels have risen at 46 of its 119 monitored river stations, while 62 stations have recorded a fall. An additional 11 stations show stable water levels.
The Brahmaputra River continues to experience falling water levels, while the Jamuna River remains steady. The FFWC predicts that water levels in both rivers are likely to continue falling over the next five days, remaining below danger thresholds.
Meanwhile, the Ganges and Padma rivers are currently stable. The Ganges is expected to maintain its steady level for the next five days. The Padma, however, is forecast to remain steady for the next two days before beginning a decline over the subsequent three days. Both rivers are anticipated to stay below danger levels.
In the northeastern region, the Surma River is experiencing a rise in water levels, while the Kushiyara River remains steady. The FFWC anticipates that these rivers will maintain steady levels for the next two days before potentially beginning to rise. Despite this, they are expected to remain below danger levels.
