Authorities at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) have implemented a series of enhanced security measures to bolster vigilance and safeguard passengers and aviation operations at the nation’s busiest airport.
These new protocols include intensified scrutiny during baggage screening for all VIP and VVIP passengers. Additionally, high-risk baggage will now undergo mandatory manual inspection after initial scanning through metal detectors and X-ray machines, according to a directive disseminated to media by HSIA authority tonight.
To ensure operational readiness, all Aviation Security (AVSEC) personnel are receiving regular awareness briefings and clear instructions. The CCTV monitoring team has also been issued special directives. Furthermore, procedures have been strengthened to ensure prior approval and meticulous record-keeping for all firearms carried during entry into the airport premises.
In the event of any security breach, investigation committees will be promptly formed through the concerned agencies, and preventive directives will be issued accordingly to avert any recurrence of such incidents.
