Google Pay to launch in Bangladesh within next month

One of the top digital payment services in the world, “Google Pay,” is scheduled to make its formal debut in Bangladesh within the next month, according to Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, adviser to the ministry of Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperatives.

Asif Mahmud recently posted on his verified Facebook profile, saying, “After a long wait, the widely-used digital payment service ‘Google Pay’ is finally being formally introduced in Bangladesh.”

According to the advisor, the platform will start processing digital transactions in the coming month, allowing smartphone users to turn their gadgets into full-fledged digital wallets.

“This system will significantly reduce the need for individuals to carry physical debit or credit cards,” he stated.
