As Chief Partnership Officer, Seong-Wook Kim has been appointed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).Under the Office of the President, he will be in charge of the bank’s strategic engagement and resource mobilization initiatives.
Kim will lead ADB’s collaborations with the global community in this new capacity, which will involve actively participating in significant international forums and reaching out to possible new members.
According to an ADB press release, he will be instrumental in furthering the bank’s cooperation with development partners in order to mobilize resources and increase the bank’s influence throughout Asia and the Pacific.
“As ADB elevates its role in a rapidly changing global development landscape, effective partnerships are more essential than ever,” said ADB President Masato Kanda.
“Mr. Kim brings deep experience in international diplomacy and a strong track record of multilateral engagement. His expertise will be instrumental in forging the partnerships we need to deliver greater development impact in Asia and the Pacific.” added Kanda.

Kim, a Republic of Korea national, has worked in the Ministry of Economy and Finance for more than 30 years. During that time, she served as the Director General for International Finance, the spokesperson, and the Deputy Minister for International Affairs concurrently with the G20 and ASEAN+3 Finance Deputy.
In his capacity as Executive Director of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, he also represented the Republic of Korea and other nations in Asia and the Pacific.
