Drugs & corruption elimination will accelerate national progress: Jahangir Alam

Home Affairs Adviser Mohammad Jahangir Alam Chowdhury asserted today that the eradication of drugs and corruption would substantially accelerate Bangladesh’s developmental trajectory.

He made this statement during the inauguration of a newly established boat workshop at the Bangladesh Coast Guard’s Mongla Base this Saturday afternoon.

The formal commencement of the boat workshop’s operations was marked by the unveiling of its nameplate.

The adviser also voiced concerns regarding the trafficking of narcotics from India into Bangladesh and addressed the recent homicides of three individuals, including a student, in Dhaka.

The event was attended by Md. Jasim Uddin Khan, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs’ (Public Security Division), Rear Admiral Mohammad Ziaul Haque, Director General of Bangladesh Coast Guard, Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh, and senior officials from various ministries, the Bangladesh Navy, Naval Police, the Forest Department, and the Mongla Port Authority.
