Sony logs 18% annual net profit jump, forecast cautious

The massive Japanese electronics and entertainment company Sony announced an 18% increase in its yearly net profit on Wednesday, but it also gave a pessimistic outlook for the fiscal year that started in April.

Although Sony reported a net profit of 1.14 trillion yen ($7.7 billion) for the fiscal year 2024–2025, the company stated that it anticipates a 13 percent decline to 930 billion yen in 2025–2026.
