Bangladesh Bank allows banks to send up to $15,000 for treatment abroad

Banks are permitted to transmit up to $15,000 for treatment overseas thanks to Bangladesh Bank (BB).

According to a BB circular released today, the money can be transferred in foreign currencies either directly to the hospital overseas or via an international card.

The message states that $5,000 is the maximum cash release limit in this instance.

Any sum over these limitations will require prior regulatory permission.
