Today’s “Bangladesh Amateur Open-2025” ending ceremony took place in the Savar Golf Club’s hall room in Savar Cantonment.
According to an ISPR release, General Waker-Uz-Zaman, the president of the Bangladesh Golf Federation and chief of army staff, was the event’s chief guest.
Speaking at the event following the awarding of prizes, the Army Chief said he hoped that hosting these events will significantly contribute to the growth of golf in the nation.
Additionally, he conveyed his appreciation to all those who helped plan the occasion.
A total of 102 golfers from seven countries, including Bangladesh, took part in the tournament.
In the men’s singles, Bangladeshi soldier Md Sahab Uddin was crowned champion while Pakistan’s Noman Elias became runner- up.
Malaysia’s Harij Hejri and Farij Ajihan won the men’s team event, while Bangladesh’s Mehedi Hasan and Munna Mia secured the runners-up position.
Aniya Farooq Sayeed of Pakistan took first place in the women’s singles competition, while Parkha Ijaz of Pakistan finished second.
Nasima Akhter and Sonia Akhter of the Bangladesh A team placed second and third, respectively, in the women’s team competition, which was also won by Parkha Ijaz and Aniya Farooq Sayeed.
The concluding ceremony was attended by players, media, sponsors, other dignitaries, the chief executive officer of Savar Golf Club, senior military and civilian officials, and the chairman of the event committee.
