Chinese Handa Industries Limited to invest $150m

Handa Industries Limited, a well-known clothing manufacturing company with headquarters in China that produces high-quality knitted textiles, dyeing techniques, and clothing worldwide, is planning to invest US$150 million in Bangladesh.

They want to spend $50 million in the apparel industry under the export processing zone and $100 million in the textile and dying industries under the economic zone.

For this reason, in a city hotel, Heng Zeli, Chairman of Handa (Dhaka) Textile Co., Ltd., and Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, Executive Chairman of BIDA, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of their respective parties.

In addition to promoting investment activities in Bangladesh, Handa Industries Limited will make investments in the textile and apparel industries (the Projects).

In order to encourage foreign direct investment (FDI) and strengthen the two brotherly nations’ bilateral economic ties, Handa Industries Limited has shown its interest in investing in the textile and apparel industry, getting the required approval and fulfilling regulatory requirements.
