RAB arrests 3 for assaulting female journalist in city

Three suspected criminals were taken into custody this morning by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), an elite anti-crime team, after allegedly assaulting a female journalist in the Rampura neighborhood of the city.

RAB spokesman verified the news at noon, stating that the three were arrested by RAB-3 members in accordance with a case that was filed under “The Women and Children Repression Prevention (Amendment) Act” with the Rampura Police Station.

Shoaib Rahman Jishan, 25, Md Raisul Islam, 21, and Md Kawsar Hossain, 21 were recognized as the inmates. They were taken into custody in the Meradia, Bailey Road, and Gendaria neighborhoods of the capital, respectively.

RAB said a female journalist was sexually harassed in Rampur area under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on March 2, 2025 by a gang that created huge sensation as it was circulated on various social media.
