Around 2:00 PM today, a 55-person rescue and medical team from Bangladesh arrived in Nay Pyi Taw to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Myanmar injured by the earthquake.
According to a statement received here from the Bangladesh Embassy in Myanmar, the team was transported to Myanmar on two C 130 J and one CASA C 295W flight with 15 metric tons of relief supplies, including 4.2 metric tons of medication and medical supplies, tents, and dry food.
Dr. M Monwar Hossain, the ambassador of Bangladesh to Myanmar, gave the relief supplies to U Kyaw Tun, the ambassador at large of the Myanmar Foreign Ministry.
Defence Adviser of the Embassy Brigadier General Md Aftab Hossain was also present during the handing over ceremony.
Earlier on 30 March 2025 Bangladesh sent the first consignment of 16.5 metric tons of relief in 2 flights for earthquake affected people of Myanmar.
