FAO to provide $4m for Bangladesh’ fruits preservation

Bangladesh will receive $4 million from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to preserve fruits.

Shafiqul Alam, the press secretary for the chief adviser, disclosed this information during a press conference today at the Foreign Service Academy.

Since farmers frequently lose their crops to natural calamities, Alam said the FAO will also assist Bangladesh in introducing crop insurance for farmers.

Senior assistant press secretary Foyez Ahammad, along with deputy press secretaries Apurba Jahangir and Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, were also present at the news briefing.
