In order to start direct flights between Dhaka and Tashkent, Bangladesh has asked Uzbekistan to sign the proposed Air Services Agreement (ASA) between the two nations as soon as possible.
According to a message received here today, the call was made during a meeting between Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Transportation, Choriyev Jasurbek Ergashevich, and Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Dr. Mohammad Monirul Islam, at the latter’s office in Tashkent on Friday.
The Bangladeshi envoy stressed at the discussion that Uzbekistan Airways’ arrival on the Dhaka-Tashkent route would revolutionize trade, investment, education, culture, and tourism between the two nations.
The Uzbek junior minister said that his government is still actively considering the issue of concluding the ASA.
Nevertheless, he also discussed the current difficulties in starting Uzbekistan Airways on the Dhaka-Tashkent route and offered his opinions on possible fixes.
Ambassador Islam emphasized the necessity to quicken and fortify bilateral connections while highlighting the state and development of relations between Bangladesh and Uzbekistan.
Citing the two countries’ shared history, culture, and religion, Deputy Minister Ergashovich reiterated Uzbekistan’s commitment to deepening its relationship with Bangladesh.
As the meeting came to an end, both parties reaffirmed their dedication to cooperating to give Bangladesh-Uzbekistan relations a fresh perspective and impetus.
