1st batch of Bangladeshi patients to leave for China on Mar 10

As part of a bilateral agreement to strengthen medical care collaboration between the two nations, the first group of Bangladeshi patients is scheduled to leave for China on March 10.

An official source told BSS this evening that 11 patients are anticipated to make up the first group.

The start of a planned medical treatment plan in China would be marked by their departure from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

According to the Chinese embassy here, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen will give a media briefing at 12:00 pm at the airport’s CIP outside route before the departure.

The event will also feature doctors, travel agency representatives, senior government officials, and patient representatives.

Ambassador Yao declared on February 18 that Bangladeshi patients would be admitted to three prestigious institutions in China’s Yunnan Province.

Ambassador Yao added that pertinent ministries from both nations are actively trying to enhance medical service mechanisms, such as creating translation teams, expediting visa applications, and elucidating treatment methods.

Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Touhid Hossain suggested enhancing bilateral collaboration in the field of public health during his most recent trip to China.

Additionally, he asked China to help with hospital construction in Bangladesh and to make medical treatment easier for Bangladeshi patients.
