Research value demands promotion of UNESCO publications: Mahbub Morshed

Mahbub Morshed, the managing director and chief editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), has emphasized the importance of publicizing UNESCO’s outstanding publications.

UNESCO publications have a significant impact on research and education. Therefore, he argued, it’s critical to promote those worthwhile publications.

This was stated by Mahbub Morshed today during the opening of the Bangladesh National UNESCO Club Association’s one-day UNESCO Book Exhibition-2025 at the Jatiya Press Club in honor of International Mother Language Day.

BSS chief editor emphasized on organizing more exhibitions and discussions on UNESCO publications saying such display and exchange of views should be held annually to attract larger audience.

National Press Club General Secretary Ayub Bhuiyan was present at the event as the chief guest while Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) President Md. Shahidul Islam was the special guest.

The exhibition featured a wide range of UNESCO publications, including those on world history and heritage, education, science, culture, journals, posters, reports, magazines, and World Heritage.

Thousands of publications related to UNESCO’s diverse activities were showcased at the event.

Speakers at the exhibition said UNESCO has been working for a long time to protect history and heritage all over the world.

Such exhibitions will further strengthen UNESCO’s relations with Bangladesh, they said.
