
ADB country director meets ICC Bangladesh president
Hoe Yun Jeong, the country director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), visited ICC Bangladesh and met with Mahbubur Rahman, the president, and the members of the Executive Board.
Building on their long-standing partnership, they talked about ICC Bangladesh and ADB enhancing their cooperation.
ADB has been actively assisting ICC Bangladesh in its different initiatives for the past few years, according to a news release issued today by ICC Bangladesh President Mahbubur Rahman, who welcomed ADB Country Director Jeong to the ICC Bangladesh on February 24.
When ADB’s then-President, Tadao Chino, went to the ICC Asia Conference on “Investment in Developing Countries: Increasing Opportunities” in Dhaka in 2000, it began to get involved.
Since 2015, ADB and ICC Bangladesh have been working together to host a number of conferences and workshops under the Trade and Supply Chain Finance Programme (TSCFP).
In addition to expressing gratitude for ADB’s ongoing assistance to Bangladesh, ICCB President Mahbubur Rahman underlined the value of public-private partnerships in promoting economic development.
ADB Country Director Hoe Yun Jeong reiterated ADB’s commitment to supporting Bangladesh in its journey towards sustainable development. He mentioned that ADB will continue to work with ICC Bangladesh in expanding future collaborations, particularly in areas such as trade digitalization, financial accessibility, and sustainable business practices.
The meeting was attended by ICC Bangladesh Vice Presidents A. K. Azad and Naser Ezaz Bijoy and Executive Board Members – Abdul Hai Sarker, Anwar-ul-Alam Chowdhury (Parvez), Md. Fazlul Hoque, Mir Nasir Hossain, Nasir Uddin Ahmed (Pavel); Mohammad Hatem and Simeen Rahman; DBL Group Managing Director Mohammed Abdul Jabbar, ICCB Secretary General Ataur Rahman, Senior Investment Officer of ADB Bidyut Kumar Saha and ICCB General Manager Ajay B. Saha.
