Fire at several resorts in Sajek Valley under control

This afternoon, a huge fire that started at several resorts in Khagrachhari district’s Sajek Valley—one of the most visited tourist destinations—was put out.

The fire originated around 1:05pm and was brought under control around 4:33pm today,
according to the Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Upon receiving information, several fire fighting engines rushed to the place of occurance around 2:40pm and brought the fire under control after nearly two hours of frantic efforts, it said.

According to the Fire Service, the site’s remote location and water shortage made it take longer to get there.
