Today, the Volunteer Network for Palliative Care had a successful preparatory meeting in the NCC Conference Room in Narayanganj. The conference, which was organized by AYAT Education with assistance from Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC), is a component of the Compassionate Narayanganj Project, which aims to create a sustainable palliative care environment in the city.
The meeting’s main goals were to guarantee volunteers’ ongoing involvement, enable palliative care patients to get long-term assistance once the experiment is over, and fortify the Narayanganj Palliative Care Society (NPCS) by fostering an active volunteer network. Participants talked about ways to maintain and grow the area’s volunteer-driven palliative care services.
Officials from AYAT Education & BSMMU, and dedicated volunteers attended the session, emphasizing the importance of community-driven efforts in enhancing end-of-life care.
Speaking at the meeting, representatives from AYAT Education highlighted the need for a structured volunteer network to support the city’s growing palliative care needs. They reiterated their commitment to working alongside NCC and NPCS to ensure that patients receive the compassionate care they deserve.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from volunteers and stakeholders to continue their efforts in making Narayanganj a palliative-friendly city. The initiative aligns with the broader vision of ensuring dignity and quality of life for individuals with life-limiting conditions.
The Compassionate Narayanganj Project, spearheaded by AYAT Education, has been instrumental in raising awareness, training health worker professionals, and mobilizing community volunteers for palliative care services in Narayanganj. This meeting marks another significant step toward fostering a sustainable and community-driven approach to palliative care in Bangladesh.
