Deal inked with Japanese firm to improve Cox’s Bazar fish landing centre

To carry out the ‘Project for Improvement of Fish Landing Center of BFDC in Cox’s Bazar District,’ a contract was signed between JDC-Konoike Joint Venture and Bangladesh Fisheries Development Corporation (BFDC).

Today, the signing ceremony for the agreement took place at the Bangladeshi Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. According to an official statement, the agreement was signed by BFDC Chairman Suraiya Akhtar Jahan on behalf of the government of Bangladesh.

According to the announcement, the Japanese government is providing grant assistance for the project’s implementation.

Md. Daud Ali, the ambassador of Bangladesh to Japan, praised the Japanese government during the signing ceremony for its ongoing assistance and collaboration in Bangladesh’s development.

The ambassador stated that Japan is Bangladesh’s biggest development partner and that the two countries are progressively deepening their collaboration in a number of areas, such as trade and commerce, agriculture, infrastructure, communication, health, education, and human resource development.

He conveyed the expectation that in the days ahead, the two nations’ cordial ties will only get stronger.
