Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Dr Ahsan H Mansur today urged businessmen to provide necessary support and cooperation for sustainable development of the economy.
“Bangladesh Bank is working intensively to ensure discipline in the financial sector,” he said while exchanging views with representatives of the Bangladesh Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) at BB headquarters in the city.
Among those in attendance were former FBCCI Vice-President Abul Kashem Haider, former FBCCI President Mir Nasir Hossain, and FBCCI Administrator Md. Hafizur Rahman.
BB received a number of recommendations from the FBCCI at the meeting for the growth of the nation’s economy, including policy support for inadvertent defaulters, inflation management, stable interest rates, and a regular dollar supply.
The FBCCI also encouraged the central bank to take the required actions to guarantee a more business-friendly atmosphere in the nation.
In order to keep local sectors competitive, corporate leaders in the meeting also gave special attention to lowering interest rates to single digits.
