National film award winning Bangladeshi actress Anjana Rahman passed away in the early hours of January 4th.
She was 68, reports BSS.
She was undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) and was in life support for last three days.
Amjana was admitted to a private hospital in the capital on December 24 with fever. Later, doctors discovered a blood infection that had spread throughout her body.
She acted in more than 300 movies during her illustrious career.
Anjana’s first released film was Doshshu Bonhur (1976), directed by Shamsuddin Togor. Her breakthrough came with the movie Matir Maya in 1976.
She received the National Film Award for Best Actress for her performances in Parineeta and Gangchill.
Her namaz-e-janaza was held on the FDC premises at 11am on January 4th.
