People must remain alert to stopping cyber crime, say speakers

Speakers at an award-giving and closing ceremony today said the criminals are conducting cyber crimes in various ways, so the people of the country must remain alert to stopping the cyber crimes.
 
“The offenders are trapping people through hacking Facebook and various ways . . . Thus people are losing their honor and dignity as well as money,” Director General (DG) of the National Cyber Security Agency Abu Sayed Md Kamruzzaman said while speaking at the ceremony organized by the Cyber Crime Awareness Foundation at the 71 Auditorium of Daffodil International University (DIU) in the city’s Dhanmondi.

President of Cyber Crime Awareness Foundation (CCAF) Kazi Mustafizur presided over the function, while co-founder of Dnet M. Shahadat Hossain, writer and economist Faizul Latif Chowdhury, country manager of SOPHOS Abul Hasnat Mohsin, among others, spoke at the event.

Md. Kamruzzaman urged all to be united against cyber crimes and aware of cyber crimes.

Urging the government to take stern actions against cybercriminals, he said the experts have to be given responsibility so that they can control the cyber crimes.

Other speakers said all should be united against cyber criminals to prevent moral as well as social degradation.

Later, the Cyber Crime Awareness Foundation has distributed cash money and crests among winners of various segments, including the quiz contest.
The awardees are Tasnim Kabir Sadik, Mominul Islam Hemal, Abrar Fahyaz, Md Momrul Hasan, Md Ahmid Shah Tamim, Yusuf Abdullah Fahim, Farhana Mahbub, Marzia Sultana, Samiul Qureshi Sourov and M Usamanur Rahman.
